Developing Artist Program
Developing Artist Program
The Song Company is committed to nurturing the next generation of vocal talent through our Developing Artist Program, encompassing both the Emerging Artist Program and Apprentice Week. We provide unique opportunities for early-career singers and students to gain invaluable experience, refine their skills, and make significant strides in their professional journeys.

EMERGING ARTISTS
The Emerging Artist Program is designed for early-career singers who have demonstrated strong vocal training and experience in choral and/or ensemble singing. This program offers a unique opportunity to act as understudies for The Song Company's main performance seasons.
Emerging Artists are engaged as paid professionals, gaining unparalleled insight into the professional world of vocal ensemble performance, working closely with our core ensemble. This focused training and real-world experience has led to multiple professional debuts, providing a vital platform for singers to build their careers and gain wider professional experience across Australia. Many of our Emerging Artists have already gone on to achieve significant success in the industry.

APPRENTICES
Apprentice Week is an intensive, one-week program held annually in Sydney, specifically tailored for classical voice students enrolled in university or equivalent courses, as well as recent graduates with a keen interest in vocal ensemble singing.
Each year, around twenty talented singers from across Australia are selected to participate. Apprentices have the extraordinary opportunity to work closely with the core artists of The Song Company and guest industry experts. The week is packed with intensive rehearsals, workshops, and masterclasses, providing a deep dive into the intricacies of ensemble singing, vocal technique, and performance practice. It's a truly immersive experience designed to inspire, educate, and connect aspiring vocalists with the heart of Australia's premier vocal ensemble.
