Following the resignation of Francis Greep after 5 years leading The Song Company, the organisation is seeking a new Executive Director.

The Song Company is Australia’s leading professional vocal ensemble. Led by world- leading creative artists, the company has a proud tradition of fostering the careers of the nation’s most exciting vocal performers. 2024 marks a significant milestone as the ensemble celebrates its 40th Anniversary with an unforgettable journey through the world of vocal ensemble music. Curated by Co-Artistic Directors Amy Moore and Jessica O’Donoghue, this season is dedicated to the exceptional singers of the ensemble and explores the profound connection between music and the natural world.

The Song Company Board is seeking a visionary and experienced full-time Executive Director to manage this significant performing arts organisation. You will have a minimum of three years’ experience in senior arts management, with an exceptional knowledge of the performing arts and commitment to the future of vocal performance in Australia.

The Executive Director will work closely with the Co-Artistic Directors on the implementation of the company’s artistic program. Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director has overall responsibility for the daily operations, governance and financial management of the company and staff. You will need to have significant experience in managing creative projects within budget and to deadline and strong business administration skills across strategic and financial planning and reporting, compliance, IT, contracting, marketing, fundraising, grant writing, including reporting to a NFP Board.

As a performing arts company, hours of work vary when a project is in production. This will sometimes necessitate working outside of conventional business hours, such as at night or on weekends and public holidays. The Song Company is based in the Walsh Bay arts precinct in Sydney but offer a flexible working environment.
