2024 Board Non-Executive Director Opportunities
The Song Company is unique in its stylistic diversity and boldness of its programs. We bring together the country’s finest voices in innovative performances, artist development, educational outreach and collaborative music-making across art forms.
2024 is a milestone year, celebrating the company’s 40th anniversary. Having undergone a significant restructure over the past two years, The Song Company has emerged as vibrant and focused, led by world-leading creative artists, supported by Create NSW funding, and ready to progress to the next level.
We are seeking people with energy, skills, time and passion to play key governance roles who will guide us during this exciting next phase in our development.
2024 Opportunities
The Board currently embraces an excellent range of experienced leaders, led by the dynamic Chair who has overseen these huge changes, Jack Percy, former Chair and MD of Accenture Australia, NZ & Korea. To complement the current directors, we are seeking the following range of skills:
- Financial oversight with experience in managing risk
- Philanthropy strategy
- Marketing understanding, including social media platforms and digital presence
- Advocacy skills with government agencies, bureaucrats and politicians
- Collaborator and listener, keen to work with a small committed team
- Available for regular meetings and consultation
- Forward-looking, operating on sound governance principles
Being a very lean administrative team, which manages to accomplish big things, can lead to some “hands on” involvement from directors occasionally. Most importantly, we seek people who are passionate ambassadors for the art form and are able to work collaboratively with the artistic and management team towards a sustainable future.
