Biography
Alexander is a young tenor from Sydney commencing his Masters in Opera Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2022, having just completed his undergraduate studies. Alexander recently made his opera debut, playing the role of Snout in Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with the Con Opera, in collaboration with NIDA, and has performed regularly in original children’s operas with Musgrove Opera over the past few years. Concert credits include Mathan in Handel’s “Athalia”, Charpentier’s Christmas Mass, Durante’s Magnificat, Vaughan Williams’ Mass in G minor and “Bell Piece” by Percy Grainger. Alexander was introduced to performing through musical theatre, where he has played such roles as Enoch Snow in Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s “Carousel”, Wayne Burns in “Strictly Ballroom”, Jimmy Powers in “City of Angels” and a variety of chorus roles in productions across Sydney. Alexander sings regularly as a Lay Clerk with the St Andrew’s Cathedral Choir.
